Girl drowning in Ganga canal (Social media)
In a stunning display of courage, two police officers in Roorkee, Haridwar, put their lives at risk to rescue a drowning college student from Ganga Canal. The accident occurred near Sonali Park, and it has been recorded on camera, ultimately going viral after garnering a lot of attention and appreciation worldwide.
As per the reports, the woman, who was a first-year MA student, had been battling depression for long. In a moment of lightning and in a chilling second, she leaped into the canal. Two of the policemen, Sub-Inspector Manoj Sharma and Constable Kriparam Chauhan, who happened to witness the whole drama, wasted no time. In a split second, they leaped into the canal to save her.
The daring rescue was filmed, with one of the officers running to the canal and jumping into the water. In a matter of seconds, he had saved the drowning girl and brought her back to dry land. The video has since gone viral on social media, with the public commending the officers for their quick actions and heroism.
The officials found the girl unconscious when they took her ashore. They administered her first aid by pressing her stomach to force out the water she had swallowed. This was followed by treatment at the nearest civil hospital.
After the incident, the police immediately notified the family of the girl, who reported that she had been under mental stress for a very long time. She is under treatment in the hospital now, and her health is being monitored.
The acts of courage exhibited by the officers are a great reflection of the selflessness and commitment of law enforcement officers who go out of their way to save lives.
